Job Description:

Sentia is currently seeking a Senior Support Specialist – Microsoft & VMware.

In the team of Network Operations Center of Network Specialists, Support Services Technicians and Technical Specialists, Manager Support Services you will identify gaps in the customer requirements and execute on the recommendations made by Sentia. You will collaborate with highly innovative teams to put designs and solutions into use for our customers ranging from small to large enterprise environments. You will have direct day-to-day contact with the Account Managers and engagement with customers.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, passionate, demonstrates ownership and is excited about troubleshooting and architecting designs for our clients. You are up to date with the latest technological trends and updates. You’ll have the trust and responsibility of our team as our Network Operations Center will rely heavily on your build. Core Responsibilities:

  • Providing an exceptional service and support experience for Customers; following up in a timely manner, root cause analysis, testing remediation, resolving questions, problems and fixes and implementing technology orders. The primary area of specialty would be Microsoft, but support would also extend to other technologies.
  • Supporting internal systems as relate to NOC operations and support
  • Supporting and implementing Sentia hosted cloud solutions as required and scheduled and as pertains to technical expertise
  • Working in conjunction with NOC Manager to develop processes and policies to deliver solutions
  • Follow processes and policies and update documentation and tickets as required

Skills and Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems such as Windows Server 2012R2, 2016 and 2019
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange (2016/2019), Office 365 and supporting principles
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/ AWS/ GCP) would be considered an asset
  • Basic Networking experience and understanding of underlying principles such a TCP/IP, Subnetting etc.
  • Sound knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.7 or 7.0
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of underlying technologies such as external Storage Systems (SAN/Direct Attached) and Networking required to be part of the VMware infrastructure
  • Conduct reviews and make recommendations on customers’ environments with the aim of improving on existing VMware infrastructure or transitioning physical workloads to a VMware virtual environment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on customers’ environments by proactively planning for VMware upgrades and patching and updating underlying components such as drivers, firmware etc.
  • Create and maintain documentation for VMware infrastructure
  • Must display initiative and leadership qualities especially customer-oriented focus
  • Possess the ability to manage your time effectively and work in high stress environments

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and certifications
  • 6+ Years of experience working in IT field with focus on Microsoft’s enterprise products
  • Extensive Customer Service Skills
  • Microsoft 365 certification such as M365 Certified Messaging Administrator Associate would be considered an asset
  • Microsoft Azure certification such as Azure Administrator Associate would be considered an asset
  • VMware Certifications such as VCP or VCAP
