Job Description
Sentia is currently seeking a Senior Support Specialist – Microsoft.
In the team of Network Operations Center of Network Specialists, Support Services Technicians and Technical Specialists, Manager Technical Services you will identify gaps in the customer requirements and execute on the recommendations made by Sentia. You will collaborate with highly innovative teams to put designs and solutions into use by our customers of small to large enterprise applications. You will have direct day-to-day contact with the Account Managers and engagement with customers.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, passionate, demonstrates ownership and is excited about troubleshooting and architecting designs for our clients. You are up to date with the latest technological trends and updates. You’ll have the trust and responsibility of our team as our Network Operations Center will rely heavily on your build. Core Responsibilities:
- Providing an exceptional service and support experience for Customers; following up in a timely manner, root cause analysis, testing remediation, resolving questions, problems and fixes and implementing technology orders. The primary area of specialty would be Microsoft, but support would also extend to other technologies.
- Supporting internal systems as it relates to NOC operations and support
- Supporting and implementing Sentia hosted cloud solutions as required and scheduled and as pertains to technical expertise
- Working in conjunction with the Manager to develop processes and policies to deliver solutions
- Follow processes and policies and update documentation and tickets as required
- Optimizing cloud resource consumption and costs through monitoring, rightsizing, and implementing governance policies
- Managing hybrid cloud environments and facilitating cloud migration projects from on- premises to Microsoft cloud platforms.
- Supporting Microsoft cloud solutions including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Intune in customer environments.
- Being a part of our support services on-call rotation
- Visiting customer sites as needed to provide support
Skills and Competencies:
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems such as Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange (2016/2019), Office 365 and supporting principles
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/ AWS/ GCP) would be considered an asset
- Basic Networking experience and understanding of underlying principles such as TCP/IP, Subnetting etc.
- Conduct reviews and make recommendations on customers’ environments with the aim of making improvements
- Conduct routine maintenance on customers’ environments by proactively planning for upgrades and patching and updating underlying components such as drivers, firmware, etc.
- Create and maintain documentation
- Must display initiative and leadership qualities especially customer-oriented focus
- Possess the ability to manage your time effectively and work in high stress environments
- Microsoft Azure administration including compute, storage, networking, and identity services
- Microsoft 365 platform management including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Intune
- Azure Active Directory/Entra ID administration including conditional access, identity governance, and hybrid identity
- Azure networking including VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and hybrid connectivity
Additional Technical Skills Seen as an Asset:
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep for infrastructure as code
- Cloud governance and compliance frameworks and implementation
- Multi-tenant environment management and customer isolation best practices
- Hybrid networking experience and understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and routing principles
- Cost optimization strategies for Azure and M365 environments
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and certifications
- 6+ Years of experience working in IT field with focus on Microsoft’s enterprise products
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud technologies
- Extensive Customer Service Skills
- Microsoft 365 certification. M365 Certified Messaging Administrator Associate would be considered an asset
- Microsoft Azure certification. AZ-104 would be considered an asset
- Microsoft 365 certification (MS-100, MS-101, or equivalent current certification)
- Cloud migration project experience from on-premises to Microsoft cloud platforms would be considered an asset
- Spanish Language skills would be considered an asset

- Additional Azure specialty certifications (AZ-305 Solutions Architect, AZ-500 Security, AZ-700 Networking)
- Advanced M365 certifications (MS-102 Administrator Expert, specialized workload certifications)
- Experience with cloud platforms beyond Microsoft (AWS, GCP) for hybrid scenarios
- SOC2 or similar service management framework experience
