Job Description:

Sentia is currently seeking an AIX Operations Specialist reporting to the Manager, Network Operations Center, who would be responsible for the resolution of technical support isses.

In this role you will be providing implementation and planning skills to support the NOC internal systems – call centre, management systems and infrastructure. You will collaborate with the architecture team on developing new offerings and implementing processes and systems to achieve these goals.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Providing an exceptional service and support experience for Customers resolving questions, problems and fixes and implementing technology orders
  • Supporting internal systems as relate to NOC operations and support
  • Supporting and implementing Sentia hosted cloud solutions as required and scheduled and as pertains to technical expertise
  • Working in conjunction with NOC Manager to develop processes and policies to deliver solutions
  • Follow processes and policies and update documentation and tickets as required
  • Install patches, upgrades, and all software in an AIX environment

Skills and Competencies:

  • IBM AIX Administration Experience
  • Experience with AIX installs and configuration
  • IBM VIOS implementation and administration experience
  • IBM HMC experience
  • IBM PowerHA, NIM, LPM and other advanced AIX skills are a plus
  • Customer Oriented Focus
  • Effective Teamwork Skills
  • Problem Resolutions Skills
  • Able to work in high stress environments
  • Must display initiative and leadership qualities especially customer-oriented focus
  • Possess the ability to manage your time effectively and work in high stress environments
  • Ability to learn and pick up the advanced AIX skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University or College Degree
  • 5 years IT industry experience
  • Extensive Customer Service skills
