Last week, Sentia attended IBM Think 2026, where leaders from across industries came together to explore how AI is reshaping the enterprise. This year’s event made one thing abundantly clear: the conversation has moved beyond experimentation - organizations are now focused on scaling AI to deliver measurable business outcomes.
There was a lot of unpack at the event, but here are some notable highlights:
1. The Shift from AI-Enabled to AI-First
A central theme at the conference was the shift toward a unified AI Operating Model, integrating data, AI agents, automation, and hybrid infrastructure into a cohesive ecosystem. This model enables organizations to move from disconnected pilots to end-to-end AI-powered workflows that drive real value.
2. The Rise of the Agentic Enterprise
The concept of the “agentic enterprise” highlights how organizations can deploy AI agents that orchestrate and execute tasks across functions, dramatically improving speed and productivity. IBM Bob was introduced as part of IBM's many product launches announced at the event. In a nutshell, Bob is an AI development partner that works with you while you’re building software. You enter a prompt and Bob helps turn it into code, flags issues in real time, and suggests improvements. Bob can also across the full lifecycle - from planning and testing to deployment and modernization, all while keeping things secure and efficient for enterprise teams.
3. Hybrid is the Only Way
Another message that was echoed throughout the conference was that hybrid cloud is no longer just an option, but the default way to go. Organizations are increasingly adopting architectures that allow them to run AI workloads across on-premise, private, and public cloud environments, ensuring flexibility, compliance, and data sovereignty. Data is everywhere and therefore data is hybrid.
Data is either a goldmine or a landfull...and the architecture that you choose will determine what it is."
- Ric Lewis, Senior Vice President, Infrastructure, IBM @Think 2026
Ric Lewis' statement echoed the importance of having the right infrastructure as a engine for your AI solutions. IBM's portfolio of high-performance computing, including IBM Flashsystem and Power - two families of hardware that Sentia has deep long-standing expertise in - have made strides in the AI evolution with new AI-infused features in the most recent versions introduced earlier this year.
4. Bridging the Gap Between AI Investment and ROI
Despite significant investment in AI, few organizations are achieving enterprise-scale impact. During his keynote, Jonathan Adashek, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at IBM, cited a McKinsey study where nearly 90% of the companies surveyed said they have deployed AI in at least one business function, but 94% of those respondents claimed they are not seeing significant value in those deployments.
A key takeaway from Think to bridging this gap: success comes from strategic change management, from embedding AI into core operations, not just layering it on top of existing processes.
Overall, Think 2026 reinforced a pivotal shift in the market: AI is no longer a future ambition - it’s a present-day business imperative.
For organizations of all sizes, the opportunity lies in moving quickly from ideas to execution - building AI into the core of how the business operates. At Sentia, we’re excited to help organizations navigate this journey - from defining strategy to implementing scalable, responsible AI solutions that deliver real results.
If your organization is exploring how to unlock the value of AI, we’d welcome the conversation. Let’s build what’s next - together.
